Fall Holiday Prep and Checklist
Hello Window Works Family,
It’s Laura Thurman, interior designer and owner of Thurman Design Studio, LLC. I’m excited to be a guest contributor on the Window Works blog during the holiday season! I’m looking forward to sharing ideas, inspiration and tips on how to decorate your home, how to make holiday guests feel welcome and ways you can make the holidays special for your family.
Before I jump right into how to beautify your home, can we fist talk about planning and prep work?
The holidays can be a stressful, expensive, and even an emotional time for people. What can we do to alleviate some of those stressors? PLAN, PLAN, PLAN! Start your planning and prep-work early, allowing your self plenty of time to get organized and actually enjoy the holiday seasons.
Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas of course all have their specific design aesthetics but also unique preparations. Lets start with Halloween. I’ve created a HALLOWEEN PREP CHECKLIST for you to stay on top of all those little details. It all starts with decluttering your home and establishing a holiday budget.
Yes, you can actually plan out your family budget to correlate with a specific holiday. You list the anticipated events, expenditures and outing associate within those months and plan accordingly.
I hope you find this CHECKLIST helpful and motivating to start planning early.
We’ll dive into that exterior and interior holiday decor in the next post. Until then, if you’re looking for a little design education, feel free to check out a few of our digital downloads here: https://www.thurmandesignstudio.com/shop.
Cheers, Laura Thurman
